How about security of PDF docs

Post by PekunZip »

Guys,
is there a way to password protect PDF files to ensure the file cannot be modified later? Could Bullzip provide such support?

Yes. BullZip Pdf Printer supports password protection.
You will see a settings.ini file in the directory:
C:\Program Files\BullZip\PDF Printer\data
Add there the following lines to protect your pdf files:

OwnerPassword=Your Password
Permissions=61636
KeyLength=128

{replace 'Your Password' with the desired password
Permissions = 61636 to allow only printing}

For more help see the guide in the following url

Hello again.

Well, I set protection settings as told above.
After generating a PDF file I opened it using
Foxit PDF editor eval version. I edited succesfully the file and
saved changes into disk. When I opened the file
with Adobe reader those changes were in the PDF file.

Is it enough to add settings into INI file or should I do
something else to activate PDF content protection?

Re: Password Protecting PDF File

Hi, I tried following the instructions below, but I did not have a folder named data in the path specified.
I went to the control panel to show hidden files, and there was still no data folder.

Is there an alternate way of password protecting a PDF file?

Thank you
