PDF File Names Truncated at 27 Characters?

Post by lagwagon169 »

I saw another topic on this, but it didn't really answer the question I had.
So sorry if this is a repost....

When I print a webpage for example, it gives a default name to the PDF file I'm printing.
It takes the first 27 characters of the webpage title and makes that the starting PDF name.

Is there any way to make Bullzip PDF Printer truncate the default PDF file name at say, 100 characters?
Most webpages are named something more than 27 characters, so it's annoying as a user
to have to constantly rename every PDF File I'm printing,
when the webpage name itself is almost always a perfect filename.

It would be nice to have an option to tweak that default # of characters that bullzip uses for the PDF name.
Is there any plan to implement this feature? Or is there some way to do this already?

Thanks!

It may be the browser that truncates the document title when the print is sent to the spooler queue. Which browser are you using?

Nice! That fixed it for me.

I had been using Mozilla Firefox 3.x latest when I posted this topic.

When I try printing to Bullzip PDF Printer from Google Chrome browser by contrast,
it doesn't seem to truncate the PDF name at 27 characters. I'm not sure if Google Chrome limits it at all in fact.

So I guess Firefox is deciding to truncate it on the way to the spooler queue. Make sense.

Thanks so much for the help!
