Installation hangs when trying to stop the spooler service

This has been observed on Windows XP Home edition.

It usually helps to run the command "NET STOP SPOOLER" from the command line before trying to install the printer.

Also can happen with XP Professional...but the fix is the same.

For me...

It happens when the print spooler has some dependency and the system requires a confirm to shutdown the service (see the image):

How can i fix the spooling issue in windows 7?

I wanted to print to bullzip 9.6. It did not respond any longer. I have no idea why. Last time I used it, a few weeks ago, it wasa OK.

Then I wanted to uninstall bullzip 9.6 and then install 9.8 on windows 7. Bullzip 9.6 uninstallation hangs.

Then I wanted to a least install 9.8, perhaps replacing 9.6. The installation hangs as well on stopping spooler. The windows do not respond any longer. And I cannot even kill the respective processes with the normal task manager or with the process explorer.

Any ideas what is going on with bullzip?! It is creating a disaster on my PC. Thank you.

Can you run the following two commands from your command line?

NET STOP SPOOLER

NET START SPOOLER

If you cannot start and stop your spooler service then there may be something else wrong on your system???
