Print Support on Webpages

Post by fritz »

Is it possible to place a button on a webpage to allow the user getting a PDF-copy of the page, possibly by some ASP or PHP programming?

That means the webpage has to load up additional data on the website that will take longer to load or you could make a addon/plugin for Mozilla Firefox so the button would be on your browser for example.

A simple answer is to just print off the webpage as you would normally do when creating a PDF. You can even select a section of the webpage to print as the PDF, so you don't get any adverts in. If its because someone needs billing/order information for their records, you could just email them the PDF which would be alot easier.

Anyone know how you get the background of websites to print as well? For example, I tested this site: www.bbc.co.uk and couldn't get the background images to print.
