Loop printing when Remote Desktop is active

Post by wmm »

For some reason, whenever I start a Remote Desktop session, my system goes into a loop printing empty documents to Bullzip. It spools one every couple or three seconds until I kill the Remote Deskitop session. (It appears not to be specific to Bullzip, as the same thing happens if I have CutePDF installed instead.)

More details: the system on which Bullzip is installed and from which I'm running Remote Desktop is Vista Business with SP1; the system I'm logging into via Remote Desktop is XP SP2 Tablet Edition. My default printer on the Vista system is physically attached to the XP machine and shared.

I have managed to circumvent the problem by setting Bullzip to offline and not-spooled status, so that only one empty document is queued; when I need to print a PDF, I'll make sure that I exit Remote Desktop and then put Bullzip back online.

That's a pain, though, so if anyone has any ideas on what I could do to fix, rather than just work around, the problem, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

system info:
local computer: windows 7 64bit bullzip installed

When remote controlling the remote comptuer printing loop happens. work around is to not redirect local printers when remote controlling. Con: unable to print to local printers from remote computer.
