I am using Extract Text and it has been working fine until the latest Adobe Reader update from version 11.0 to 11.0.1 a few days ago.
I now get the message "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component." whenever I try to run it.
I have .net 2.0 and Adobe PDF IFilter v6.0 installed on my system.

Any ideas on how to handle this?

Hi,

Stupid questions I have to ask:

1) Are you on the latest version of the program?
2) What type of document are you trying to extract text from? I assume it is PDF.
3) Also, did you try to uninstall and reinstall the PDF IFilter?

I was able to reproduce the problem on my development system. It was fixed by reinstalling the IFilter
